Summer nights! Vote yes on summer nights!

Tonight Brandis and I were determined to go out for drinks, as it had been too long since the Thursday night traditions of old were observed. We started with our old haunt, the Prospector, but the place has gone to seed. Our dear friend Cayt has gone away. And our dear friend Cayt used to be the bartender who fed us free drinks all night long. And in the olden days, there was no cover before 10:00. So, naturally, we budget-minded ladies tried to scuttle in at 9:30. No dice. There is apparently a cover at all times now. That did not sit well in our hearts, so we opted for The Auld Dubliner. The Auld Dubliner (should there be any confusion) is an Irish bar.

That was a good choice.

I came home from my lovely summery evening with Branderslice to find my boyfriend building his arcade game with Spinal Tap BLARING on the tee-vee. You see, my boyfriend is building an arcade game. Its a giant wooden cabinet that will house every 80s video game you can shake a stick at. Were talking Q-bert. Were talking Tapper and Ms. Pac Man and Galaga. Hes building the exterior with yer run-of-the-mill MDF. Then theres a computer and an old TV involved. And then theres a slew of joysticks and track balls and buttons.

And the thing about lovewalking into our apartment, hearing Stonehenge blaring from the ridiculous surround-sound he installed, turning the corner into our little office to find him SWEARING at a video cardthe thing about love is that it just grows and grows. And it surprises you. And its all about those moments of startling the other person, finding them engrossed in some nerdy fixation. I love stumbling in on him. He couldn't know how much.

And thats the thing about love.

Dramatic curtsy.
