A few nights ago, Erik and I went to his cousin's 40th birthday party. A 40-something Orange County lady said something to me that I've been puzzling over ever since. She's the wife of a guy Erik used to play in a band with. I hadn't seen her all night, but she was saying her goodbyes, and when she came to me she said, "I didn't recognize you! You used to be so into the arts." I must've looked confused, so she added, "Your hair is all one length!" Confusing, right?
